Ready-Made Snacks & Kaapi - The Recipe to a Relaxing Evening

Ready-Made Snacks & Kaapi - The Recipe to a Relaxing Evening

Sometimes, you don’t want to spend half an hour making a dish from scratch when those hunger pangs strike.

Some days, when evening rolls around, all you want to do is grab a pack of murukku or tapioca chips and settle down with a cup of fresh filter kaapi.

There’s something so nostalgic about ready-made snacks. Many of us have grown up on it and have fond memories of the crisp, savoury bites transforming every evening into a relaxing time.

Here are some ready-made snacks to keep handy, and pair them with your favourite filter kaapi blend.

Banana Chips

One of the classics, you’d always find a half-finished pack of banana chips in the pantry in a Kerala home.

All there is to it is raw banana, thinly sliced, deep-fried, and lightly coated with salt, but something about it is so addictive. It is perfectly crispy. The mild sweetness doesn’t become too much even when you’ve devoured an entire pack by yourself.

There are salty and spicy versions of banana chips, too, but the original is a must-have. Try it with our Robusta blend, which is a bold coffee that packs a punch.

Ribbon Pakoda

Made with rice and chickpea flour, ribbon pakoda gets its name from the shape of the snack.

It is not spicy as such, but since the dough is seasoned with red chilli and cumin powder, there is a little bit of kick to each bite. Nothing that can’t be handled with a sweet, frothy cup of the Heritage kaapi blend

Just like banana chips, ribbon pakoda also has a nice crunch and crumbly texture when you munch on it.

Sevai Mixture

Sevai mixture is a light noodle-like crispy snack made with rice flour that is steamed and pressed through a noodle mould.

The strands from this mould are then fried with spices and curry leaves. It’s simple, it’s mouthwateringly tasty, and it doesn’t ever get old.

Sweet & Spicy Mixture

Mixtures are snacks for people who love a little bit of everything. Can’t make up your mind between sevai, peanut or puffed rice? Well, this ready-made snack has it all!

Every spoonful of this sweet & spicy mixture presents a different combination of ingredients. You’ll find bits of boondi in it, fried curry leaves that add a nice earthy touch to the snack, some raisins, fried gram dal, and even flattened rice.

The spice in this is much more pronounced, but it’s also balanced by the nutty-sweetness of other ingredients.

Rice Kodubale

A beloved snack from Karnataka, rice kodubale are shaped like rings. They are made of rice flour, roasted gram flour, and spices.

This savoury and crunchy snack has subtle hints of cumin, green chillies, and sesame seeds that give it its signature taste.

It is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, making for a delightful snack that you’ll find yourself reaching for throughout the day.
